Some tasks have Approve and Reject buttons instead of regular Complete button. Such tasks are used for approvals. When you get such task assigned, you are expected to either grant approval or reject it.

Approval task has two options: "Approve" and "Reject"

  • If you click Approve, the process will continue forward. It works just like a regular Complete action.

  • If you click Reject, the whole process will be stopped completely. Any active tasks will be cancelled. You will be requested to provide a reason for rejection. The text you will provide will be visible to other participants on a process' view page.

If you Approved or Rejected by a mistake you can reopen your approval task and change your decision. Metatask will automatically update all affected process tasks, e.g. it will reopen all tasks cancelled when process was rejected.

  • You can also "Request changes" if you can't grant your approval just yet, because some changes need to be applied to a work done on previous steps.

When you click "Request changes" all tasks related to your approval will be re-done. Metatask will reopen tasks one-by-one and assign back to their assignees. As soon as all tasks are re-done, the approval will be assigned to you again. At this point you can re-evaluate applied changes and make your decision.

You can "Request changes" as many times as needed.

Using "Request Changes" action

After click on "Request changes" you should provide description to help other team members understand what needs to be done:

If you clicked "Requested changes" by mistake, you can change you decision to "Approve" or  "Reject" using the "Make decision" button:
